The Diamond DA40 is comparable to the C172 for primary and instrument training – and it’s really fun to fly! It costs a bit more to rent, but you’re in a modern cockpit and flying significantly faster.

The DA-42 TwinStar is an ultra-modern light twin. It’s relatively simple to fly (compared to conventional twins) due to the FADEC – Full Authority Digital Engine Control. No more prop or mixture levers.

The DA42-NG is the new generation, with the new Mercedes engines. It’s been redesigned for the new engines, it is heavier, and is a bit easier to fly than the original TwinStar. (See Greg’s blog post about it.)
